Balenciaga unveils a collection of 10 fragrances that transcend eras — through fusion and tension that move beyond traditional olfactive perfumery. More than seventy-five years after Cristóbal Balenciaga introduced Le Dix, the Maison’s first perfume, this collection stands as both a tribute and a renewal, forging a dialogue between the House’s past and present. A collection of 10 individualistic parfums — each expressing a bold clash between the mastery of French parfumerie and daring innovation.

1947
In 1947, Balenciaga launched its first fragrance, Le Dix (pronounced /lə dis/), meaning “The 10”, named in reference to the House’s address at 10 Avenue Georges V in Paris.
Le Dix was a floral aldehyde with notes of bergamot, jasmine, rose, iris, and violet. Its elegance appealed to post-war clientele. The bottle, initially square and compact, would later take on an oval fluted shape with a domed stopper, also fluted.
The brands complete the narrative with sculptural satin dresses and bias-cut silhouettes that flatter without fuss. Here, fabric becomes language — rich enough to make a statement, subtle enough to last beyond the season.
2025
More than seventy-five years after the launch of Le Dix, Balenciaga reimagines its fragrance heritage.
On September 10, 2025, the Maison unveils a collection of ten fragrances that transcend eras—through fusion and tension that move beyond traditional olfactive perfumery. The collection pays tribute to the House’s patrimony and to time’s power to transform, renew, and imbue meaning.
This rebirth of a lost icon began with a 15-year search by the House’s archivists, culminating in the rediscovery of a forgotten perfume bottle from 1947: the first fragrance created by Cristóbal Balenciaga, Le Dix.
Scanned to match every detail, the flacon was faithfully reproduced—now refillable, featuring a globular glass cap and handtied ribbon. The packaging, etched with the patina of age, revives the design of the original box, with its logotype resurfacing within Balenciaga’s signature industrial grey — a metaphor for the fusion of past and present, and a testament to the trace of time.
This spirit is echoed by the reopening of the Balenciaga Fragrance Store at 10 Avenue George V,
returning fragrance to the historic address that first inspired Le Dix.
